Before joining Laura's group as a Postdoc, Sofia was a student at the University of Padova, where she contributed to the experimental setup of the ISOLPHARM project at the Laboratori Nazionali di Legnaro of INFN, aimed at producing innovative β-emitting radionuclides for medical applications.
She later focused on the GERDA experiment, conducting studies on dark matter interactions and exotic decay processes. Currently, she is fully dedicated to the LEGEND experiment, where she took responsibility for data monitoring and quality assessment. Her work also included advanced background analyses and the evaluation of the performance of the liquid argon veto system, extracting the first LEGEND half-life result for the neutrinoless double beta decay.
Outside her research, Sofia enjoys outdoor activities such as hiking, bikepacking, and camping, as well as collecting vinyl records and experimenting with photography.
