FlashCam is a prototype camera for the medium-sized telescopes of CTA. The concept is based on a fully digital readout with continuous signal digitisation and a clean separation between the photo-detector plane and triggering electronics.
In 2017, FlashCam was mounted on the prototype MST structure in Berlin and took the first gamma-ray air shower data with a prototype CTA MST.

A version of the FlashCam prototype camera was installed at the H.E.S.S. site in Namibia on October 20th 2019. It has since been functioning as a fully integrated part of the H.E.S.S. telescope array.
