The Mu3e experiment is a new fixed target experiment hosted at PSI in Villigen. The aim of Mu3e is to search for the forbidden decay mu->3e with unprecedented precision, with an ultimate sensitivity of 10-16 expected. The uses the worlds most intense proton beam at PSI to achieve this goal, where background must be kept under control using extremely precise spatial and timing resolution. The group at UZH is helping commission the silicon pixel detector, which is a key part of the experiment.
